Since the ancient Egyptians began using a hand-powered lathe centuries ago, man has striven to make arduous building and assembling tasks easier, quicker, and more efficient through power tools. We’ve come a long way from those sand-covered turning machines, but the end goal is no different from our desert-dwelling ancestors. Today, nearly every home in every industrialized country houses and uses power tools.

Even though the concept of the power toolpower tools has been around for a long time, it wasn’t until the late 1800′s when the first modern-era power tools became possible. The advent of electric motors made highly-efficient stationary and portable power tool technology a reality, and high-speed assembly lines made power tools both affordable and profitable.

The Bosch company was at the forefront of power tool technology in those early years. Founded in 1886 Germany by Robert Bosch, the company initially focused on automobile components with integrated electric parts, and was responsible for such developments as the first low-voltage magneto ignition. Before long, companies in other industrialized nations began developing the first electric power tools, and Bosch introduced its first power drill in 1932. Today, Bosch still engineers and manufactures automotive parts, and its power tool division has grown to include nearly every household and assembly tool on the market – including power drills, belt sanders, circular saws, and more. As part of the company’s growth, it has acquired other successful power tool manufacturers that started during the same early 20th century era.

The internet has changed everything, so it’s no surprise to see that it has changed how IT support London is delivered to small and medium businesses.

But some of the changes are a surprise…

Particularly the impact on prices, but more of that later.

Remote Support Eliminates Travel Cost in The Capital

The ubiquity of the internet means that businesses can have their PC’s, Mac’s and servers supported on a remote basis. As a result support can be delivered within minutes rather than the user having to wait until the engineer can get into the office to sort out the problem.

Travel costs were much more of a problem in the Greater London area than many other places because of the time it takes to travel from one place to another. With remote support the delay and the cost of travel has been eliminated. This levels the cost playing field with the rest of the UK by at least one notch.

And of course IT support can be delivered remotely from any location in the UK. This reduces the impact of higher central London rents and salaries. That equalises costs another notch.

New Fangled “Managed Services” Level The Playing Field Across The UK – Even Further

You’re probably wondering what the definition of a “Managed Service” is. The industry doesn’t completely agree on the definition but the main elements are:

• A fixed monthly fee usually based on the number of PC’s servers, etc.
• An agreed level of support for that fee. With many packages the support is unlimited.
• Support is usually delivered on a remote basis. Onsite support may be included in the package, or may be additional.
• Extra projects such as office moves, new servers, etc, are added on top of the monthly support fee, but usually at a discounted rate.

Approximately twelve percent (12%) of UK motorists travel to European destinations every year and of these more than a third are unaware that they have too little europe travel insurance cover. They assume that they are fully insured to drive in Europe but what actually happens is that many UK insurers will downgrade the level of insurance cover on any vehicles taken abroad. By law they have to provide a minimum level of cover for driving in European countries but this is usually third party only.

There are basically two types of insurance cover. Firstly, there is the temporary cover which is ideally suited to holiday makers and people going on short visits. Then there is the more comprehensive cover which is specifically for people intending to stay in Europe for extended periods of time.

Some insurers will automatically offer comprehensive European car insurance cover for up to 90 days, valid in all EC countries with no requirement that the motorist must inform the insurer the intended dates of travel. This is ideal for holiday travellers and perfect for short business trips. Other insurers will want to know beforehand the date of travel and the duration of the trip. They will also inform you of the amount of free European car travel insurance cover you are entitled to and what additional cover is available.

Some companies will charge a little extra for comprehensive insurance including European breakdown cover. Something to be aware of, the cost of recovering a vehicle outside of the UK especially when there are no suitably equipped garages nearby to service the car can be extremely expensive. For instance, Auto parts in Europe for cars with right hand drives are not commonly available and the cost of returning a car to the UK could run into several hundreds of pounds.

One important document you will need to take with you and your insurer will provide is the ‘Green Card’, although this is no longer a legal requirement when travelling in Europe it can make life so much easier in the event of an accident. The green card is internationally recognized and confirms that you have the minimum level of car insurance coverage.

The small shop area is fine for food ,ice cream etc but the toilets are horrendous, come on council invest in toilets or put some up by the beach area, Local pub wont let you in to go the loo.

In 2004 Lexus decided it was time to get in to the SUV game. They desperately wanted to have a V8 powered vehicle which could compete with the Range Rover and beat them in this part of the luxury SUV market place. By doing this, Lexus cars now can boast that it is in every part of the luxury vehicle market space. Lexus used cars like the GX 470 can offer both luxury and off-road capabilities making this vehicle very popular with the public.

Lexus GX 470 used cars:

The first engine that the GX 470 had, was a 4.7-litre V8, 235 horsepower engine, with 320 pounds, per feet of torque. It only comes with a five-speed automatic transmission. In 2005 they added the Toyota’s “Variable valve Timing System” and this increased the engine to 275 horsepower, with 330 pounds, per feet of torque.

Stats from 2002 to 2006 show that the fuel economy for a Lexus GX 470 is 15/11-litres, per 100 km for city/highway driving. Lexus used cars like the GX 470 are great for long distant trips because of the comfort level that they provide passengers, so don’t just look at it as a off-road vehicle. I also tried to find stats from the”Insurance Institute for Highway Safety” and I could not find any report from them on crash tests done on earlier models from the years 2002 to 2006.

Here are some of the things you need to know before you go out and buy a GX 470.

1- There are issues with cracks in the dashboard. Apparently the interior materials might not be up to quality.
2- There are issues with the audio system having problems.
3- There are problems with the front turn signal burning out.
4- There are noises that come from the drive-train in earlier models. They say the problem is because of lack of lubricant. You can get the driveshaft lubricated again and working, but this is a short-term fix. If you hear this sound while test driving the vehicle, realize you will have to replace the driveshaft and rear suspension control arm with parts that are redesigned. So what I’m telling you is, don’t buy the GX 470 if you hear a clinking sound.

Amazon has gone into a very positive partnership with the UK’s british library newspapers. Now, Kindle owners will have access to over 65,000 out-of-print books dating back to the 19th Century, and best of all, they will have a FREE price tag. This move is really awesome, and is bringing these works to the public, which until now wasn’t possible. Also, consumers will be able to purchase print-on-demand paperbacks of these works.

Readers will be pleased to find known authors such as Austen, Dickens and Conan Doyle, but also will have access to lesser known authors who were also influential like Edward Lytton’s work, “A Strange Story”, and Ella Hepwarth Dixon’s “The Story of a Modern Woman”. This work has been described “as the greatest unread novel of female struggle”.

Unknown to most, but now a reality, 35% to 40% of the 19th Century collections held in the British Library are either completely unique or inaccessible through other major libraries in the UK and other countries. These works include history, philosophy, poetry and literature and total to around 25 million pages of words.

In addition to classic works, Kindle users will be able to read works that really were influenced by the 19th Century. Known as the Penny Dreadfuls because they were inexpensive, these works were very descriptive with outrageous plots, and were targeted to the working class. At that time, they were produced on pulp paper that lacked durability. Because of this fact, most were lost in time, and the remaining titles are obviously very rare. Now because of this amazing partnership between Amazon and the British Library, Kindle users will have access to these “dreadful” works.

CreateSpace, a subsidiary of Amazon, will offer these titles via print-on-demand, so those who don’t own a Kindle will be able to get paperback copies of the works at inexpensive prices. Consumers will be able to purchase first editions as well, but again, Kindle owners can get the ebooks for FREE.

Not only is this a history-making partnership, but truly a sign of technology being used in a positive manner. It is not only unearthing long-buried reading material once again to the world, but also preserving it for generations to come, so they can really discover the Victorian Era. Also, during these hard economic times, a public sector institution such as the British Library is moving forward, and surviving by partnering with a giant like Amazon. Bringing these buried gems to life once again, is a positive move that the world needs right now.
